The bellowing of the stag in Seine-et-Marne, that special cry which resounds during the autumn nights and which proves to be both spectacular and shivering at the same time.
In fact, rutting stags attract the attention of their females, the hinds, to assert their dominance. The latter do not hesitate to challenge each other in a brutal duel to conquer their beloved. This unique phenomenon occurs from mid-September to mid-October.
A tour of the Fontainebleau forest is organised by the Tourist Office and accompanied by a specialist guide, depending on the year.
